Position: Head Coach

The Girls Golf program at King continues to improve posting its best season ever last year.  They recorded a team record of 14 and 3 and won the BIG VIII League Championship. Set a school team match record of 197 and won our own King Classic Golf tournament. Qualified for the Regional CIF where the team placed 6th.  The upcoming season holds great promise for the Wolves.  4 returning varsity players will be aided by several upcoming underclassmen.   This coming season will be very exciting.  Coach Moorman expects the Lady Wolves to repeat as Big VIII champions and place in the top three at the CIF East Regional and advancing to the Southern Section Championship.  The team hopes to qualify 5 players for the Individual CIF Southern Section Chanpionships.

A golfer from a. very young age, Moorman starred for Metropolis Community High School in Metropolis, Illinois.   In his senior year, he was named team MVP and placed second in the Illinois State Southern Regional. He went on to play golf for Southern Illinois University graduating in 1978 with a BS in Chemistry. He also received an MBA degree from SIU in 1980.

During his 4 years as an SIU Saluki,( ask him what that is) he taught Junior Golf.  He has won several local tournaments and was once a club champion back in Illinois.  He is the proud owner of 3 holes -in-one.
