King continued with its third straight domination of the Big 8 league with a 42-30 win against Santiago on Wednesday.

Eden Olvera, Danny Cisneros, Victor Clark, Phil Saucedo and Landon Degennero led the team with pins adding 30 points to the overall team score. Eden Olvera, Danny Cisneros and Phil Saucedo have pinned their way through every opponent this season which is remarkable in this competitive league. Isaac Guevara wrestled a gutsy tough match and sealed the team win by defeating his nemesis of last year and avenging his prior loss.

King forfeited its last two weight classes giving Santiago 12 team points. King needs big athletes to fill the upper weight classes. King wrestling has its sight set on beating Centennial next Monday to become Big 8 league champions. The wrestling team has worked hard and improved significantly each week and will be a formidable opponent against Centennial.

King celebrated senior night and honored Eden Olvera and Phil Saucedo. These two individuals were great team leaders and significantly contributed to the team dynamic. both will wrestle in college and we wish them continued success in life. 

Faith Rush scored two pins to route the sharks girls team and she continues to improve every week. Rosalee Lopez and Sophia Whetstone have been cleared to wrestle and they add a lot of fire power to the girls wrestling team.
