EASTVALE:  On Wednesday night, the Lady Wolves took on The Lady Mustangs of Roosevelt High.  This was probably one of the biggest games of the season for the Lady Wolves; a win would almost secure them at least a share of the Big VIII league title for the fourth consecutive season.
After establishing an early lead, the Lady Wolves got into foul trouble, which allowed the Mustangs to quickly get back in the game.  The Wolves took an 8 point halftime lead, after 2 big shots by Senior Guard Raya Smith.
The second half was close, with many fouls called and both teams having to work their way out of foul trouble.
The Lady Wolves were able to finish the game on a 9-2 run to pick up the victory 60 to 50.  The win puts the Lady Wolves a top of the Big VIII, with a record of 7-0, and 21-4 overall.
After the game, Raya Smith shared her excitement about the end result: “we played well enough to get the W tonight.  We have 3 more league games to go.  We have to keep it going.”
On Friday night, the Lady Wolves travel to Corona High School, looking to go 8-0 in league.
