Boys Varsity Tennis · TIE BREAKERS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN CIF LOSS TO RANCHO CUCAMONGA


King played Rancho Cucamonga  Friday in 2nd round CIF action. The teams were very evenly matched overall so both sides knew that the close ones were going to make the difference.

Rancho took the 2 tie breaks on the day, which lead to the loss for the Wolves at 8-10.

King grabbed 5 sets in doubles behind Senior Jeff Peters and Freshman Brantlet Ryan sweeping and Junior Ishan Modi and Freshman Gavin Henry only missing the sweep by a tough 4-6 loss to Rancho’s #1 team.

In singles “the guys fought hard” said coach Harris, but King was albe to get only one set against Rancho’s #3 player;  missing opportunities against Racnho’s #2 in 4-6 and 6-7 losses.

“Overall it was a hard fought contest by all and a lot for both teams to be proud of” Harris said.

The Wolves finish their team season as Big VIII League Champions and with League Singles and Doubles Champions that will compete on May 16th.
