The King Athletic department just received word that Girls Tennis Coach Becky Gagnon is one the 50 national finalists for the Positive Coaches Alliance (PCA) “Double Goal” Coach of the Year.
The PCA is a national organization dedicated to what athletics can help bring to kids through positive coaching role models and the standards they set beyond winning.
The “Double Goal Coach” award is given to coaches “who try to win while pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sport.”
Those who have observed Coach Becky Gagnon in action, know that her entire career fits that description extremely well.
The 50 finalists were chosen out of over 1000 nominees from 47 states. From this group , one coach will be a grand prize winner of $10,000 ($2500 for the winner and $7500 to the youth sport organization or school of their choice).
Congratulations to Becky for being recognized on her continued dedication to what is important in high school athletics.
