Boys Varsity Soccer · WOOD ROAD TURNS INTO A SHOOT OUT AND SHUT OUT


The boys soccer team took on their “end of the road” rival Citrus Hill, the school located 1.4 miles south of King on Wood Road.

It became a shooting match with plentiful shots on goal by both teams that ultimately had King’s goalie working overtime and King finding a way for one of those shots to land on target and get the win, 1-0.

Luca Sciommeri had the shut out in the goal with some key saves late in the game” crowed head coach Todd Mapes of his stopper.

Leo Mendez was the other hero after guiding an assist by Gavin Blomdahl into the net in the 22nd minute of the game.

All told the Wolves out shot their opponent 12-5 and now stand at 1-1 on the season.
