At the Big 8 Golf Finals, King’s girls golf experienced a difficult day putting at the Big VIII finals and it cost them some potential plums.
“The entire team suffered greatly on the greens” said Coach Moorman.
Indeed, poor putting cost the Sjoerdsma sisters the championship title and Hailey Higginbotham and Reina Murillo a chance to move on to the Southern section CIF individual tournament.
A disappointing day still provided some excellent news. Morgan Sjoerdsma, Chandler Sjoerdsma, Hailey Higginbotham, and Reina Murillo were all named All League Big VIII. Quite the honor for King to have 4 of the 8 selections awarded to the girls.
Morgan and Chandler Sjoerdsma qualified for the CIF Individual Tournament at Western Hills next Wednesday and the team will compete at the CIF East Regional team championship a week from Monday.
