RIVERSIDE: King tennis took on Norco last Friday and swept the match easily, winning 18-0. But the win wasn’t half the story.
The starters for the Wolves played with intentionality and were effective and focused despite an opponent they knew going in was not going to put up much of a challenge.
They got ahead early and so, beginning in the second round and continuing into the third, King subbed in a total of 8 players.
“Even with the subbing” Coach Gagnon said, “the girls gave up only two individual games in Doubles and five games in Singles. The entire team is reflecting the team goal of stepping onto the court with the determination to stay focused and get the job done.”
Needless to say, that can be quite a challenge when the opposition isn’t at the same level.
“I’m extremely satisfied“ Coach Gagnon added, describing the outcome of the match. “We aren’t allowing mental mistakes to affect our level of play.”
King remains undefeated in league, as it’s been for many consecutive years.
