The boys water polo team took on five challengers in the Big 8 Tourney over the weekend and came out with a 3-2 record from their effort.
“We were missing some senior athletes due to the SAT testing and other various reasons” Coach Rahn said, “but we came up big nearly beating Arlington on Friday night.”
It was a bitter sweet loss, coming out of a bigger loss to the Lions when King played at full strength one week before.
“We were inconsistent” Rahn said, “but that is due to our youth, but we have a fight in us that is a strength.”
“I am happy with our growth together and individually” Rahn went on. “Its good to see us gain some confidence and trust in one another. The communication is improving and our play is improving with it. The boys are having fun and that is good to see.”
King’s record stands at 7-14 overall and will play Norco today.
The scores of the games were:
- Centennial 15-1 W
- Arlington 6-7 L
- Roosevelt 12-8 W
- Elsinore 10-5 W
- Xavier Prep 7-13 L
