Roosevelt was the opponent this time, and as have all other teams that have faced the King Girls Golf squad this year, they fell to this talented group.
At 11-0 with just one match to go in league play, the girls from King are cruising through the league, controlling their opponents and hence are poised to win another league title.
King used the depth of their team, including new comers Isabella Luna, Reina Murillo and Hallyn Crozier, to tally an impressive team total of 213 to Roosevelt’s 283.
Morgan Sjoerdsma led all scorers with an even par 36 and Rebecca Hawes followed with a score of 40.
When asked what helped her drop her lowest season round at Canyon Crest, Morgan replied, “throughout the match I was helping those in my foursome with their questions about rule-situations and my teammate with various shot selections. As a result, I was forced not to over think my own game. I was reminded of what my coach taught me, you really learn the game when you teach the game.”
Players becoming teachers… it’s a recipe for success and a likely league title.
