RIVERSIDE: The Wolves played host to the Night Hawks of Murrieta Valley at Riverside’s General Old Golf Course on Thursday. Murreta Valley is one of the top teams in the division and the area so King knew that they were up to a difficult task.
“I think we didn’t play as well as we would have liked, but that comes with playing teams that are elite” Coach LeDuc explained.
At the outset on a windy afternoon, King played quite well, and the match was even going into the final holes despite the conditions. The match swung however in the final four holes with a tie match turning into a lopsided defeat for the host Wolves.
“Murrieta Valley was very impressive off the tee and at the end of the day their distance was just too much for us to overcome” Coach LeDuc said.
But the the spirit of optimism even in the face of the 209-189 finish is still strong.
“We will stay positive” LeDuc said. “There’s no reason to be negative when things aren’t going your way. …finish strong.”
What of the contest showed your strengths?
We had a great performance by Ivan today. He really stepped up on a tough day and played great down the stretch, including an exciting birdie on the final hole. His performance was impressive today.
