Girls Junior Varsity Golf, Girls Varsity Golf · SJOERDSMA, LARAGA LEAD GOLF TO FIRST WIN

The Ladies golf team teed off on their first match of the season, a non league affair against Murrieta Valley who proved to be a very tough match.  King prevailed with a 203-216 advantage.  (In golf, the low score wins)  It was a sweet victory in that King lost to the Nighthawks in 2015 by a single stroke.  Murrieta Valley boasts a fine tradition; last season they were a CIF qualifying team, and they are consistently the top team in the Southwestern League.

After trailing by four strokes after four holes, King put 7 birdies together and came in for the strong finish with a 13 point win in a 9 hole competition on Murrieta’s home course.  Morgan Sjoerdsma and Lauryn Laraga led the way for the Wolves to help clinch the first victory of the season.

The two teams will square off again on Thursday, September 1 at Canyon Crest Golf Club.
