BALANCED ATTACK BRINGS KING THE WIN

The Lady Wolves Varsity Volleyball was victorious over the Roosevelt Mustangs 25-16, 27-25, 25-19 on Wednesday. The Wolves unleashed a balanced offensive attack recording double digit kills from Samantha Bickett (12), Taylor Orshoff (12), and Senior Emily Gutierrez (10).

Sophomore Jaden Grova had 20 assists, 11 digs and 2 aces. Senior Emma Thompson led the defensive charge with 12 digs and 2 aces.

The Wolves team defense was solid recording a total of 55 dig in 3 sets. The team averaged 3 aces per set and put constant pressure on the Mustang’s passers.

Senior Jordan Thompson was excited with her team’s progress, ” We really are coming together as a team, believing we can win any game no matter what. We are building a trust as a team and I’m so excited how far we have come this season and how far we can go”.

Coach Lough was also pleased with the team, “the ladies did a great job of taking what we work on in the practice gym and executing it in our game plan tonight”. The Wolves are now 2-1 in league play and 7-9 overall after a strenuous preseason.

The girls will travel to Corona on Monday October 2nd for their next league match.
